Privacy Policy — Reel Collector
Effective Date: May 28, 2026
1. Introduction
Reel Collector (“the Service”) is a personal content scheduling and posting tool operated by a single creator, the owner of the TikTok account @bus_lab_chitose, hereafter “the Operator”. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Service handles, how it is used, where it is stored, and how it is protected.
This Service does not have public user accounts. The Operator is the only person who uses Reel Collector. References to “you” in this document refer to the Operator, unless context indicates otherwise.
2. Information Processed
Reel Collector processes the following categories of information, all of which belong to or are generated by the Operator:
- OAuth tokens. Access tokens and refresh tokens issued by TikTok, Meta (Instagram), and other authorized platforms when the Operator grants the Service permission to post on their behalf.
- Account identifiers. The Operator’s own user IDs, open IDs, and account handles on connected platforms.
- Video files and metadata. The Operator’s self-produced video files, captions, hashtags, thumbnails, and accompanying scripts and structured data.
- Posting records. Timestamps, post URLs, and status flags (such as “scheduled”, “posted”, or “failed”) for content the Service has published on the Operator’s behalf.
- Performance metrics. Aggregate engagement statistics (such as views, likes, saves, and reach) returned by the connected platforms for the Operator’s own posts.
3. Information NOT Collected
Reel Collector does not collect, request, or store:
- Information about other TikTok users, other creators, or audience members.
- Personally identifiable information about any third party.
- Browsing history, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprints.
- Payment information.
- Biometric data.
- Location data beyond what is voluntarily included in the Operator’s own content.
4. How Information Is Used
Information is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Authenticating with connected platforms via OAuth 2.0.
- Uploading the Operator’s videos to the Operator’s own accounts.
- Maintaining an internal ledger so that the same video is not posted twice.
- Recording posting outcomes (success, failure, post URLs) for the Operator’s own review.
- Retrieving the Operator’s own engagement metrics for performance review.
Information is not used for advertising, profiling, training of machine-learning models, resale, or any other purpose outside the scope of the Service.
5. Where Information Is Stored
- OAuth tokens and API secrets. Stored locally on the Operator’s own computer, in environment variable files that are not committed to public repositories. File-system permissions restrict access to the Operator’s user account.
- Posting ledger. Stored in a private Notion workspace owned by the Operator. Access is restricted to the Operator.
- Video files and intermediate assets. Stored locally on the Operator’s own computer.
- Performance metrics. Stored alongside the posting ledger in the private Notion workspace.
No data is stored on shared servers, public databases, or third-party hosting services beyond the platform APIs listed below.
6. Third-Party Services
Reel Collector interacts with the following third-party services strictly to perform its core function. Each interaction is initiated by the Operator’s own authenticated session, and only data the Operator owns or has rights to is transmitted:
- TikTok (Content Posting API) — to upload and publish videos to the Operator’s own TikTok account.
- Meta Graph API — to cross-post videos to the Operator’s own Instagram Reels account.
- Notion API — to maintain the Operator’s content ledger.
- Anthropic Claude API — to assist in generating script drafts for the Operator’s videos. No third-party user data is sent.
- Pexels API — to fetch royalty-free background footage.
- VOICEVOX (local) — to synthesize narration. Runs entirely on the Operator’s local machine; no data is sent over the network.
Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy. The Operator’s interactions with each service are subject to those respective policies.
7. Data Sharing
Reel Collector does not sell, rent, lease, or share information with any party other than the third-party services listed in Section 6, which are necessary for the tool to function. No data is sold to advertisers, brokers, or analytics platforms.
8. Security
- Authentication credentials are kept in local environment files with restricted file-system permissions.
- Tokens are not written to log files, transmitted to any analytics service, or stored in version control systems.
- Communication with all third-party APIs uses HTTPS.
- The Operator is responsible for the physical and digital security of the device on which Reel Collector runs.
9. Data Retention
- OAuth tokens are retained as long as they are valid or until the Operator revokes consent on the relevant platform.
- The posting ledger is retained indefinitely for the Operator’s reference, and may be edited or deleted at the Operator’s discretion.
- Video files are managed by the Operator and removed at the Operator’s discretion.
- Performance metrics are retained for as long as the Operator finds them useful for content planning.
10. Revoking Access
Because Reel Collector operates only on the Operator’s own accounts, “revocation” applies only to the Operator. The Operator may revoke the Service’s access at any time by:
- Removing the application’s authorization on the relevant platform’s settings page (TikTok, Meta).
- Deleting the local installation of the Service.
11. Children’s Privacy
Reel Collector is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in the user’s jurisdiction). It is a personal tool used exclusively by the adult Operator. The Service does not knowingly process data of minors.
12. International Transfers
The Service is operated from Japan. Third-party APIs the Service calls may transfer data internationally according to their own privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in the Service’s functionality or the connected platforms’ requirements. The “Effective Date” at the top of this document will be updated accordingly. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to data already collected.
14. Contact
For privacy-related inquiries about this Service, please contact the Operator via direct message on TikTok at @bus_lab_chitose.
